RBCD Rewind: Binghamton University Baseball Complex

In honor of Major League Baseball’s Opening Day today, Ryan Biggs Clark Davis is highlighting a recent project in our portfolio.

We provided the structural design for a new $60 million Baseball Stadium complex at Binghamton University (SUNY). The 84,000-square-foot facility supports the University’s Division I Baseball team, the Binghamton Bearcats. Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis provided structural engineering services for all buildings and elevated walkways for the Phase 1 project. Services included incorporation of construction sequencing and planning for future structures to be installed as part of Phase 2, a multi-sport indoor athletic facility, which is currently under construction. The Baseball facility includes increased fan seating, locker rooms for athletes and umpires, restrooms, batting cages, coaches’ offices, study spaces, athletic training room, and hydrotherapy treatment pool. The project also included a new turf field and lighting and scoreboard improvements. The project was funded by the largest gift in the college’s history and with the addition of the new facility, the program hopes to attract top baseball talent to the university. The Bearcats season is underway so if you find yourself in the Southern Tier, check out a game at the new state-of-the-art facility. *Photos courtesy of CSArch
