Nadya Levitova and Brian Churchill will be judging the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Student Steel Bridge Competition being held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) today.

Caleb Hayden is also mentoring Syracuse University’s ASCE Chapter at the event. The competition tasks student teams to create a scale-model steel bridge which they fabricate prior to the competition and assemble during a timed construction. Each student team’s bridge is load-tested, weighed, and must span approximately 20 feet, carry 2,500 pounds, and meet all specifications of the competition rules.
