The Melvin A. Eggers Hall is a five-story, 130,000-square-foot addition to the existing Maxwell Hall at Syracuse University. The Hall was built to combine all public affairs and citizenship programs and departments and contains a multimedia facility equipped to provide access to foreign-language television and radio broadcasts. Ryan-Biggs Associates provided complete structural engineering services to the project including schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding phase assistance, and construction review and observations. RBA also provided initial design services to move and relocate a historical observatory that was located within the footprint of the new building. The project won the Excellence in Design Award from the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter.
